[rant] why does it seem to be incredibly difficult for some people to operate a mixing desk?! When I say 'less microphone please' it doesn't mean turn off my monitors completely, and then leave the mic volume the same, because now I can't hear my voice OR the music I'm singing to. To think you spend time sound-checking only to have some eejit forget everything you've asked him. I mean, if it were a full band, then yes, there's a lot to keep an eye (ear) on, but when it's just a backing track and a microphone (with a touch of reverb & delay) it's not exactly rocket science to get the balance right, especially whe you've had a dry run already! [/rant]

but apart from that, though t'was a good night, and a lot of money was raised for charidee
