The Almost Moon, by Alice Sebold, and The God Delusion, by Richard Dawkins.

Before anyone jumps on me, I defend anyone's right to believe in God, but personally, I don't.

Big Man by Clarence Clemons, he of E-street band fame

Not sure what to make of it a stories of legend become a bit annoying after a while but it's a decent read. Maybe could have more about Springsteen and the rest of the E-Street Band, but am only half way through it so who knows!

worth it for 2 euro anyway

I'm on the afterword of Ann Rule's Heart Full Of Lies (A True Story Of Desire and Death) THANK LOAF !!! Gawd, it's been a lengthy, boring read ... lol ... but I hated the thought of not finishing it. The reader KNOWS this woman was convicted of murdering her husband and while reading about her, imo, she stood out as a wackaDoodle !!! I don't see how she conned anyone with half a brain into thinking her smart, beautiful, kindly, etc ... She was an out and out wacko, imo ... I'll finish it today, I SWEAR... lol ... and then onward and hopefully, upward ... lol ... xo

Other than course books, which don't count in my opinion, nothing... Which is amazing for me, as I normally have three or four on the go at any one time...

Wink Happy Wednesday, meatie peeps !

Welp, I did finish the Ann Rule book and found the Afterword the most interesting bit of the book ! ... lol ... Onward to "Help ! I'm Laughing And I Can't Get Up" by Liz Curtis Higgs (an "encourager"). Miss Higgs is "an award-winning speaker" who goes about the world giving encouraging speeches on how to laugh. "Rated "G" for "Good, clean fun!"" so it says on the back of book. I bought it at a local Salvation Army outlet. What caught my eye was what was written on the back cover of the book... "Are you ... (honest... there's three dots... lol ... ) Overworked? Under-humored? Stressed out? Down in the dumps? Here's the perfect pick-me-up!" I must have been feeling all that at the time of purchase MONTHS ago... lol ... and now I have the book in a box of them I'm reading in alphabetical order... lol ... I've only read a few pages and it seems so far a bit of light-hearted fluff... EXCEPT ... she quotes the Bible. A big "uh oh" light went off in my head when I read "I may not remember my exact words at the time or the exact order of things, but something happened all right! If you want exact truth, read the Bible." ... Yeah, uh-oh lights, bells and whistles... lol ...

A Clash of Kings by George R R Martin, Book 2 in the Song of Ice & Fire series. WELL into it now that Game of Thrones is on TV. Loving it.

" The Devil's Labyrinth" by John Saul. Sad to say that so far, it's not one of his best.

Carte Blanche. I love Deaver and I love Bond. Only 1/3 of the way through though and the big bad hasn't happened yet. Good so far though...

I am really into these books, I find them really intersting, am currently on the chapter, 'The Missing Murderer's'. Call it a morbid fascination but I always find things like this very interesting.

I wonder why there's a picture of Herman Goring on the cover?

I finally painfully finished this extremely unfunny book however, I am nearly finished a delicious one called The Kite Runner. It's by Khaled Hossein and is the story of two boys growing up in Afghanistan. The Washington Post World said ~ "A powerful book... no frills, no nonsense, just hard, spare prose... an intimate account of family and friendship, betrayal and salvatoin that requires no atlas or translation to engage and enlighten us. Parts of The Kite Runner are raw and excruciating to read, yet the book in its entirety is lovingly written"... and that's exactly right. There's moments so shocking, sad and blunt that I found myself slamming the book shut and in tears, even on the bus... Yet others I am hugging the book to myself and enjoying the moment ... It's unfortunate in its way that I recognize the towns mentioned in the book, unfortunate for the fact I know them from news of the war that continues there... but it is bringing the towns to life for me ... and I find that interesting... Yes, there are the bad guys, but there's the good guys, too... xo

Oh, gosh... lol ... I forget what the heck the book was about !!! I'm sure I liked it, though... hmmm ... good gravy davy... Anyway, next read was Message In A Bottle, I forget the author, but it started out alright for me, but then, I found it to be hokey and sappy and I found the main female character to be deceitful. And I know the book was made into film with, oh gosh... Why do I KEVIN COSNER... I always want to call him Warren something... lol ... At anyrate, KC played the male lead and I've always found him to be a bit of a mope. Kevin Cosner, that is, and I couldn't get his mopiness out my mind and I think it really ruined the story for me entirely. The author is male and imo, he made the female characters a bit too giddy for their ages. Imagine ME saying that... lol ...

Anyway, now I'm on to No Time For Goodbye by Linwood Barclay. I felt the concept good and was going along with it as an easy read and then, well, the police in the story didn't follow-up on something the way I felt they should. I wonder if that's part of the plot or just writing that imo is a bit shoddy ? We'll see...

S ... xo
