hands down without a doubt...For Crying Out Loud...and its hard to say y its so good...a big part is the part where it slows down and it goes "for takin in the rain...." and he goes through the list and it speeds up its just so powerful..and another reason y i find it so good is if u read in his autbiography where he tells the story about that conference thing i cant remeber what it was it was like a virgin records thng or sumthina nd all these celebrities and artists were watchign and Meat sang For Crying Out LOud for them...and he thinks they all left cuz it was so silent and then they all bursted out and like Billy Joel was up on a table cheering...if u just read that story and the way Meat discribes it..and then listen to the song...its like breathtaking, lol For Crying Out Loud is the best written and performed song of all time!

Hope it's okay to do this...

"We were the last act to go on. I was so into 'Crying Out Loud,' that when I finished, I had my eyes closed. Now normally when you finish a song, the audience will start applauding. But the room was silent. It felt like an eternity. I'm standing there with my eyes closed expecting applause but hearing absolutely nothing. Two or three seconds after the song is over, there's still nothing. I had enough time to think this one thought: 'They've all left.' That's how long it was. On stage, a moment is an eternity.

I'm sure my face showed real fear during those few seconds of 'Oh my God, they simply left.' Because that song is a nine-minute song. We start with piano and voice, and then the band comes in, and it ends with piano and voice. The ending itself is a good two minutes of piano and voice. At the end, I take the mike away and it's just my voice cutting through the theater.

And then, as I started to open my eyes to see the awful truth, the room exploded. They stood up and started to scream.

They were yelling and whistling and climbing on chairs. There were people standing in the middle of the big round dinner tables. All for a damn ballad.

...

...There are pictures of the audience at this moment taken from the stage looking out, and you can see the whole place standing on the tables and all these people on the stage and the band all looking like deer caught in the headlights. We were that stunned. People were jumping and dancing and carrying on. They went crazy, completely berserk. Billy Joel was standing on a table. They were throwing chairs. They did something like forty thousand dollars' damage to the room.'

To Hell and Back - an autobiography : Meat Loaf with David Dalton

There is definitely something about this song...

And then the second part of BOOH (the my-heart-breaking-out-of-my-body-part) because if you listen to it, you just can feel the pain at the bottom of the pit, i could break down everytime i listen to it. The first part i donīt like that much. Because before i get a Meat fan, i had the 100%Rock compilation, there was BOOH, but just the first part, so i just knew this version. When I bought the Very best of, and i heard the first time thecomplete song i just thought...wow.
I wish, there whould be a song that is just like the second part of BOOH (I look forward to Bat III)

PS
Please tell me, whats so good on For crying out loud? I just know the live with MSO version, post me a PM if you can tell me, why its so good.

If you were ever... trully in love with someone Radiomaster, then you would know what makes FCOL such a special song. It says it all, every feeling, every emotion, just poured out, from the bottom of the heart. One of the very best love songs ever written, sung by the only person who could ever give this song it's proper due, imho.

I don't have a favourite song because I love them all but if I had to choose it would probaly be BAT OUT OF HELL because when it is done live and the guitar solo is playing it leaves you with goose-bumps as it is such an awsome song.

Way to go Meat Loaf !!

I didnt write, that I think, that the song is not good. I just heard the live with MSO version and that just with the commentary, so i didnt hear the "pure" song. When i listen to a song, i like to hear the studio-version first. Can You tell me where i can get it?

You can buy a copy of the " Bat Out of Hell" cd, almost anywhere, Radiomaster. Try your local music stores or ebay.
