Inevitably Meat has many, many contacts, but surely they're irrelevant to this process?!
It is very much an "American" thing. I have participated in this type of fund raising myself. I am a "local celebrity" thanks to hosting Rocky Horror; therefore, every year I know the local Rely For Life (cancer charity) will be calling on me to use my "fame" to help raise money. They do a "jail" where they come around and "arrest" you. You are held, usually in a conference room somewhere, until you get get friends/family to pledge a certain amount of money for the charity to "pay your bail" then you are set free. I have to use my connections to get out, or sit in a hotel ball room all day.

I think at one point in the show it was said that Meat, Lil Jon, and John Rich brought in a lot of money for the task.

I will just have to watch it again to verify that!

Please do, Cathy. I think it was said while they were selling at the pizza parlor. Meat just didn't flaunt it like some of the others did.

Yeah it was stated, Meat also clearly did a good job of upselling whilst at the till in the store.

I know a few people who actually made it to buy pizzas from Team Backbone. I know one donated a hefty sum and another one had bought two slices of pie and two cokes, which would have been $20, they haded Meat a $50, and Meat said "you really dont want change do you?" So yeah, a lot of upsales were going on!

Like you Dave, I know of several people that made it there to buy pizza. They went just to support Meat. Didn't make a big deal out of it, just it did. It just didn't make it into the show. I think he did raise quite a bit of money just by his presence. It was done quietly and without a huge fuss, exactly Meat's style

The "Fat Terminator" that was behind Curtis Stone was none other than Boss Award winner Bill Brennan...Rocky Horror legend. So glad he got air time. He has worked so hard and always has such amazing things to say about Meat Loaf. He was at the Waverly the night Meat & Tim tried to sneak into the show. Great first hand stories.

This is kinda Celebrity Apprentice related and Rocky Horror related. Lou Adler who produced The Rocky Horror Picture Show and his wife Page are co-founders of The Painted Turtle, the charity that Meat is playing for. OF course we know Meat was also in RHPS. Paul Newman was also another one of the co-founders of The Painted Turtle. It's like six degrees of separation - Meat, Rocky Horror, Lou Adler, The Painted Turtle, Celebrity Apprentice - which gets me back on topic!

I know this has nothing to do with this discussion so far, but after looking at the pictures from the cast party, I wonder what Meat performed that night ?

I would have said, "Yep- I sure do!"

I agree, I think it's what celebrities do all the time. I don't see anything wrong with it.

I also think it's a good strategy to stay back at first and observe, to kind of get a feel for the other contestants, and try not to make enemies too soon.

That strategy doesn't always work in the UK version though. There are times Alan Sugar has fired someone for being in the background. In fact my main criticism of the show is Lord Sugar's bizarre choices for keeping/firing contestants.

Thought you'd have been cynical enough to realise that the firing/keeping choices are heavily influenced by who makes good TV and who doesn't?

I realise that, but even so some of his decisions are odd.

I just read in an article that he sang Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad and then Johnny Be Goode

I read that John Rich, referring to Meat in his video update, says “You know what, he probably is the biggest star on the men’s team,” adding “He’s one of the biggest stars in the world, music and Broadway and movies. It was a true honor to be sitting in a room with Meat Loaf, much less (I think he means "let alone" .. lol) to become friends with him.”

He also says that in tonight's episode Meat Loaf “steps up to the plate” and blows everyone away with his abilities to direct and to make a vision come to reality.

Awful, isn't it? (the combover I mean, not the show)!

Yeah it is, but it's become his trademark now.
