Like most my Mother & Father's taste's influenced me. From my Father it was Meat Loaf, also The Animals and Pink Floyd.
From my Mother it was Roy Orbison, The Beatles & soul music.
Although my uncle got me into the Sex Pistols and i think the start to ''Anarchy in the uk'' is one of the all time great intro's.

It was my uncle who got me into meat loaf i can remember when i was about 4 and my mum took me to my nans house and my uncle would play his music and i can remember asking who is that singing. he said its meat loaf. my first thought was wow i loved going to my nans with my mum and sitting with my uncle listening to meat loaf i first saw meat loaf on top of the pops in 1993 and i now know who he is and iam still a very big fan of meat loaf to day at the age of 31 and iam proud to call myself a fan as i have been a fan of meat loaf all of my life

I grew up listening to Status Quo, Slade, Queen and Meat Loaf because that's what my dad liked to listen to and he usually had first choice of what music was played in our house but when my mum got to choose it was Neil Diamond, Bobby Goldsboro and Roy Orbison.

Their choices have influenced my tastes in music more so than my sister's and I'm grateful to them for introducing me to some great music.

Bobby Sherman. I had the biggest crush on him when I was growing up, and even had posters of him hanging on the wall

Then I got hooked on Barry Manilow, Weird Al Yankovich and Ray Stevens (who I still listen to occasionally) before "discovering" Meat Loaf after Storytellers in 1999.

Music influence and preference has always played a big part in my tight family. I think I'm classified as a 'mutt' with the different genres of music I grew up on. So here goes a list of my top exposures:

Mom: Engelbert Humperdink (sp?), Barry Manilow, Pointer Sisters, anything Doo Wop. Dad: see mom and add Kenny Rogers and Lionel Richie. Sister #1: Journey, Air Supply, Chicago and Meat Loaf. As I grew up, trying to come into my own opinions of music, I favored listening to Michael Jackson then Bon Jovi, Poison, Cinderella before age 11. Age 12, a car trip with my cousin from Florida to NY we had Meat playing from West Virginia all the way north. I've not swayed my favorite since. Bon Jovi still has a place in my heart but my love is Meat.

I grew up listening to old country with my mom. Then when I started listening to my own I found Beach Boys, Meat Loaf, Pink Floyd and a few others. But the more I went the more I really liked Meat Loaf the very best. Always will and will never stop.
