Of course the real magic of the internet is if you search 'bat out of hell banjo' on YT, you actually find someone playing it

I searched for years to find a good version, never succeeded. However, if you were to search for bat out of hell on the ukelele, you will strike gold

Totally off topic, but Gus and Fin do some great uke stuff on YT, don't think they've done Meat yet.

That sounds promising.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed and in the meantime, will start saving up.

I think acoustic stuff is great, although I do understand why it wouldn't be quite so appealing to others. I'm not sure I'd want to hear an entire show of Meat Loaf unplugged, but a slot in the set for one or two songs a night could be cool. It could be an interesting way to approach playing material which doesn't get showcased that often - you don't lose the thunder of one of the bigger hits, which everyone is expecting and wanting to hear at a Meat Loaf show...and there's not a lot of rehearsal involved, considering the substantially smaller amount of people involved. You could put a totally different song in that hypothetical slot practically every show

So was the acoustic section during Meats very best of tour IMO! (Mainly?) covers though.
Unlikely to work with SteinMeatmusic (recent proof: "Holding out for a Hero" on the new Footloose soundtrack).

I think I posted that as a reaction to when you said you were considering doing gigs just with Randy and Justin? I had assumed that would be acoustic.

But Vegas show on West End would be great for us to see here in the UK.

The Very best of tour in 99 acoustic portions were great I remember. I was at the Glasgow show and you had a verbal fight with a loud guy in the audience during it.

I think a whole acoustic show is maybe too much. Saw Springsteen acoustic in 2005 and thought it was a bit too much of the same thing. But I'm always open to ideas/new things.

I disagree. I think any song, if it is a good song should and does work on piano/vocal only. I liked the Operastar arrangement of Bat as well and know a lot of others hated it. But a whole show is too much maybe. Having said that acoustic doesn't necessarily mean everything needs to be played softly. The Angels Arise thing from Steinman sounds great and that is just piano and vocals.

Thank God! Acoustic concerts are boring IMO.

I saw Colin Hay in May doing a solo, acoustic set. It was my first unplugged gig and it will be my last. He had presence, good songs, a fine voice and some funny tales to share. I am a huge fan of his but the stripped down style cannot hold my attention for 30 mins, let alone 2 hrs. A couple of tracks here and there within a full-on show is fine, but a full evening of the stuff? No thanks.
Keep rockin' hard, Meat.
