Still. You gotta give the man credit for trying.

Please don't ever try again.

Simon said it best when he said "What the hell".

An entertainer but definately not a singer. He should leave songs like Bat Out Of Hell to those who can really sing.

agreed bat is one of those songs that meat can only sing. anyone can cover took the words, two outta three, paradise, AFL, even masculine. But LEAVE BAT ALONE.

now ... looks like im got bat to do for the recording project

To be fair 'that guy who sang Born To Run' did background vocals on Bat 3, and it's evident why he does background vocals and not the main ones.

HE'S HOT!!!!

kidding.

ok, I liked the dancing skeletons. I thought they were cool. This guy has a "likeability" factor. He just may get the votes. LMAO though!

In this video you can also see someone who played on Bat III. This is what a cover of that song has to sound like - and fortunately there ain't any dancing.

That guy is a better singer than Wagner but he doesn't appear interesting to me and apparently he didn't understand the song. Wagner is at least entertaining and I agree with Suzie regarding the "likeability factor". But as a fan of Bruce as well as of Meat, having to witness what these great songs have to serve for on TV these days is almost depressing.

The first we heard of it was a text from my Mum saying "are you watching X Factor? Nothing will prepare you!" and the second was "there was no excuse for that!!"

Oddly, I actually believe I've seen worse! To me, Bat is one of those songs that can only be done by Meat's voice, it just sounds wrong otherwise, so if people are going to cover it I'd much prefer to watch someone like Wagner having some fun and doing almost a pi$$-take version than watch some people I've seen attempting to do a serious cover which will never work - as was proved on Strictly when they gave it to a British guy who sang it with an American twang and the "rock" huskiness to his voice.

Brilliantly tongue in cheek terrible!

Of course Bat is synonymous with Meat, no one can sing it liek the big man. Last nights effort was bad TV that was compulsive watching. If they'd slowed it down a little bit it would have been far far better, the speed and the Brazilian accent just don't mix.

The same people who made Rage Against The Machine Xmas No.1 are apparently voting repeatedly for that Wagner guy every week to make him the winner lol! Also I would like to suggest the title of this thread is changed to Bat Out Of Hell MURDERED On X Factor!

Wagner didn't just sing BOOH poorly he absolutely massacred it. I thought he'd be lambasted by Simon Cowell, but he actually got off lightly. How can he possibly get through after that? it was a shockingly bad performance. Whoever votes for him really needs to get their hearing checked out. The X-Factor is a shambles.

At least Spice up your life and all the other stuff he sang were pants songs to begin with. I have a feeling that people are going to be taking the piss in work tomorrow

Thats a bit harsh ain't it. I think Wagner knows he is not going to win X-Factor and is going along with the fun. Credit to the guy to get on stage on live tv too millions and do what he did. OK, it may have been a awful performance, but I was not expecting Meat, I was expecting the cheesy performance he gave, thats what I expect from trash tv.
