Well many people always say there's no such thing as bad press. At least it does keep Meat in the news which is a good thing.

I really can see from both sidesI was there did i feel i got value for money? No. But i was more concerned for Meat's health then and i still am now. Could i do with the Ģ150+ i spent on the tickets back Yes.
I don't think the person has a leg to stand on there was no guarantee he would be on 2 hour's plus also the quality of Meat's performance is only opinion. All it would take is an announcment maybe saying if the uk leg get's rescheduled then the Newcastle date will be added. Well that's what i'm hoping anyway. |

But concert etiquette and good manners are for another thread...let's keep this one on topic... The man is an idiot trying to make money out of anything. Meat had really bad press here in the North East after Newcastle and it sounds to me like someone trying to jump on the bandwagon of something hitting the headlines. Very sad. |

I emailed this person (his name is Mike Fisher) and told him in a very nice way that what he is doing, in my opinion, is wrong and got a curt reply of mind your own business really! I did say though that i wouldn't be claiming the cost of my petrol back that i used getting to the NEC last week.

I could not agree more that meat's health comes first . but from the promoters side the hole last week has been to say the least badly handled. No information posted etc . he was obviously ill to walk off like that so why was there no information published in advance about manchester , birmingham or wembley concert dates . how mant people spent money traveling to these gigs that could have been avoided if information had been given out earlier . i was due to go to the wembley gig and did not find anything definate until someone on this site linked the BBC news information.
there was nothing on the official site until late afternoon , by which time most people traveling any distance would be well on there way . If meat was still ill from the previous week then why leave it until that late to postpone or cancell . Get well soon meat . sack the promotion team though.. |

Well...I say let him try to sue...
I know of the case where a woman here sued sonogram technician cause he/she told her that she is going to have a boy and she had a girl... So? It ended where it started...sonograms do not change the sex of the baby and apparently concerts that last over an hour are not refundable. Nothing to worry about...I am sure promoters have good lawyers and good insurance... |

In regards to Manchester that was cancelled with 24 hours notice (just), although there were some people he still did go to the venue. Andy and I (and some others) travelled to Birmingham which wasn't cancelled but I think we'd have been naive to travel not knowing that the chances were that it wasn't going ahead. Wembley, thankfully, was cancelled just in time for most of us but certainly not enough time for those who have a long way to travel to London.
As a fanclub member it's not been too bad for me as the news has appeared on this site, but for anyone who is a Meat Loaf fan who isn't a member here it's been terrible, especially when people who don't know a lot about Meat are going to go to his official site before deciding whether to travel, and a whole lot of use that is... |

Yes, I have a problem with late cancellations too. That's probably the only problem I have with this and not sure who it is up to.
Let's review: If I decided to go: 1. I would have bought a ticket - not sure of the price but the last ones were in the area of $97.- 2. Would have booked air fair - cheapest I've ever seen was about $560.- 3. Booked the hotel room - another god knows how many dollars. Never mind other expenses... AND...I would have to fly a day before to get to the concert because of the time difference. I wouldn't have complained - I would be delighted to meet people at the Greyhound...but that's me...what about others like me? Or others much worse off than me? |

How do you know? did they get amputated? or is that wishful thinking
![]() My 2 cents here: (as always ![]() I can understand how some people from the Newcastle gig might be a little disgruntled, they went to a Rock Concert and feel a little short-changed, especially since the 2 concerts afterwards got rescheduled prior to the whole tour being scrapped. That said, I think some Geordies are taking things a little too far. But saying that, I think there's some people on here who've hopped onto a train and headed oneway to downtown goofyville. (That'll be ANOTHER 20 infraction points from FM ![]() The best solution IMO, is to either reschedule the whole gig, or offer half of the money back, since they only saw half a show. Pud ![]() |

I was at the Newcastle gig and paid double the price for my ticket plus travel costs etc which amounts to 3/4 of my weekly wage. I saved my birthday money to pay for the ticket. Those of us who do not have a great deal of disposable income are bound to be upset shelling out travel money and hotel fees etc. especially for the gigs that were cancelled at the last minute. Having said that the last thing I would want to do is try to sue.
It was an evening I would rather have not witnessed because I hold Meat in such high esteem - it was upsetting to see him struggle. I had a front row ticket - something which I don't think I'll ever get my hands on again !!! I think things have been badly handled but Meat is not to blame for this. I never expected to receive a refund and the sooner everyone else accepts this the better. This man - with his 100 behind him - will be laughed out of court. If it gets that far I hope he has to pay costs!!! Get well soon Meat - you are worth every penny I have ever spent on you. Love Angel xxx |

Meat, unfortunately, with his choice of words left it open for people to come in and contemplate legal action and demand refunds. There's always going to be some chancer that has a go and this guy likes his name in the papers.
If they would've just said 'Thank you good night" without the list of songs that they were going to sing then I think a lot of people wouldn't have been affected as much. Hey it's a pain. I travelled over on Monday (would've been too much to do it in one day) to London from Dublin, so two nights hotel and airfare, trainfare etc makes it pretty expensive couple of days in a small place called Wembley. Thankfully there was enough of us to make it a decent night and from a financial point of view getting the refunds for the tickets will pay for most of it, but that's an aside. Thanks for posting the link and Meatgrl I don't understand why you question that. If it's for meat's sake he can find the story by typing meat loaf into a news search, so it's not exactly been hidden from his eyes. |

Frankly, I am disgusted.
I mean sorry, what if he had - thank goodness he has not - but what if he had died that night? I mean, I understand 50 Pounds is a lot of cash, and not everyone can afford it easily, but Meat Loafīs Health and maybe even his life was at stake, which is worth way more than 50 pounds. Donīt people even realize they attended a legendary Meat concert, one of the ones that is being talked about, I mean theyīve been there, no matter how bad things are for Meat, I bet a lot of people envy them for having seen him, having seen this concert, and probably everyone wanting his money back, is enjoying that type of attention too. Sorry, but itīs disgusting, someone is giving everything to entertain you and all you care about is how to get your money back while ruining the artistīs reputation. Itīs pathetic. Itīs vile. Itīs scum. |

They're not taking legal action against Meat but against the promotors and personnally I think they're right, I want my money bbk for the performance. It's nothing to do with Meat, I want the promotor's to refund my money for a poor show.

This guy is clearly a d*ck and a cut-short Meat Loaf concert is still by far better value for money than going to see anyone else in my opinion.
What I think is worse is how the promoter's kept us all hanging on last week. Waiting for news and only getting it at the last minute when many of you had travelled long distances to see the concert. With Meat clearly having trouble with his voice, many of us felt that the tour wouldn't continue and yet the promoters and venues (particularly the NEC) assured fans right up until the last minute that the show would go ahead, leaving no choice really but to start travelling. This is almost exactly what happened after he was ill at Wembley in 2003. That concert was a fortnight before the show in Cardiff, and even though Meat was seriously ill in hospital, I didn't find out the show was off until I arrived. To cap it off the show was rescheduled a month later and again was called off at the last minute as people arrived. That treatment is unacceptable when 'the people in the know' clearly have the information they need to cancel the shows well in advance. |

I think it's best if the dramatics are left in a cupboard under the sink, and we just stick to actual facts and events that occured. There's a lot of if's, but's and maybe's but that isn't going to solve anything. Some people 'rightly or wrongly' are pissed the concert got cancelled, they're even more pissed that shows after theirs got rescheduled prior to being scrapped completely. I don't think anyone is taking this personally against Meat Loaf, but more towards the management and organisers. Pud ![]() |
