Well svz, You can check out, Rock and Roll Dreams do Come Through- General Messages, starting from Page 1, or if you do a search you could probably find some other interesting articles.

I've been lucky enough to meet him twice ... and what really impresses me the most is how nice and down to earth he truly is.

The first time I met him was at a M&G before the show in Atlantic City in September 2001. This was also my first ML concert, so to say I was very excited was understatement :).

I was a very new fan (I didn't get hooked on his music until 1999), so I really had no idea what to expect. I admit I had so many things I wanted to say to him .. but I guess I was star-struck, and as soon as he walked in the room, my mind went completely blank. I didn't get my picture taken with him (although we got a couple of great group shots), and don't think I said two words to him that night ... but I'll never forget giving him a kiss on the cheek when he came over and gave me a big bear hug :) I still have the Sheriff Dogett placque he autographed hanging on the wall in my office, and that's something I'll always cherish.

The second time I met him was at a M&G after the show in Clearwater, FLA during the Fun Tour in December 2002.

Having met him before, I knew what to expect, and was determined to talk to him. The funny thing is it almost happened again ... I was star-struck (although not as much as the first time), and as soon as I saw him walk in the room my mind almost went blank. Thankfully Caryl was with me and reminded me about my camera .. or we wouldn't have gotten any pictures !! Anyway, I walked up to him, and said "hi Meat". He looked me right in the eyes with this big smile on his face, and said "Hi. What's your name?" After hesitating for a brief second (yes I'm surprised I actually rememberd my name .. hehehe) I said "Vicki"... and it was really special to me when he said "Hi Vicki. Nice to meet you" and then gave me a big bear hug :)

I got my picture taken with him, which I will always cherish and have hanging on my wall. And I'll never forget him actually giggling when I asked him to sign my Crazy in Alabama lobby card.

But the best part was when I gave him a Texas flag from my father's store. When I gave it to him, he handed it to Debra who happened to be in the room at the time. To be honest, it really made my night when he said he thought it was "Cool" and Debra suggested that he hang it up in his office :) I wonder if he ever did that ?

So Meat ... did you ever hang up that Texas flag in your office ?

As I say I've been very fortunate to have met him twice ... and hopefully I'll get the chance again sometime before the tour is over :)

Thanks for the story Vicki, I've just read it at work and it put a big smile on my face. I'm at a middle school, and the student I have here in the library no doubt thinks I'm nuts as I had an ear to ear grin going on. I was at that Clearwater show, if only I could have made it to the M&G the evening would have been perfect!

Yep ... it was the perfect ending to a fantastic night. I just wish you could have been there too ... hopefully you'll still get a chance sometime.

A M&G??? Well, sometimes the radio stations have an action and you can win one.... or... like last time (april 2003) here in Holland, we could sign in here on the board...

That was pretty cool. he is a very nice man, and he can talk... my god....
