Default Meat's New Live One

Is it true you can find AFL and CHSIB live at the end of For Crying Out Loud?

I've read numerous reviews, and those songs have been mentioned on there. Just wondering... :)

I've got the album - in Australia (it finally came out!!). Yes, the two bonus tracks are on my version. The bonus disc has three live audios of Rock and Roll Dreams, Dead Ringer and I'd Lie For You. The promo vids for Couldn't Have Said it Better are also there (butchered versions of the songs, btw). They still haven't released the DVD yet. I asked the person on duty and they only knew about the CD...

So, now I have to wait for the DVD

Are you talking about the same here? Rockfenris; that sounds like the special edition that was released by HMV in the UK????

Yes. It's got a cardboard cover and folds out. The inner sleeve has a pic of Meat Loaf, with the writing of his name CUT OUT - and a picture underneath (the credits book). It's really good. I quite liked the design. The other one that's in the shops, (and mine was the only one I could find of this description) is just a basic CD. Is ML & MSO available on LP?

:P

Yes, the limited UK-edition is absolutly essential:

On the bonus-DVD are the MSO-versions of "I'd lie for you" and "Rock and Roll Dreams" > not released on the 2 DVD-set or the CD !

Bye from Kai

There was a review of the dvd in the local newspaper here in the North of Holland. It was a very bad review .

A few headlines:

-Patti Russo: overacting;
- Without Jim Steinman Meat is nothing but a rude, unpolite and unmannered clown with a bad behaviour;
- witj Steinman he is nothing but a man with a big ego;
- awfull version of Paradise;
- Bat and AFL too much bombastic from the orchestra;
- It looked like a very bad Las Vegas show.
- tha band is a machorock band wit a very low level of quality;

Wonder if the reviewer actually watched it?

i do remember the Scottish newspaper who reviewed a Meat Loaf gig some years ago that didn't take place - it had actually been cancelled! On that occasion Meat performed brilliantly apparently. it says it all about reviewers, the fans opinions are the ones that matter.

Sales are a good indicator,and it has been selling very well in the UK.

No but it hit number one and then dropped to four afterwards. There was alot of competition from well-established artists at the time with it being pre-Christmas

Read it. Seems that this man is always very negative in all of his reviews.

Let's not give a crud about what that guy said, here are my headlines on the DVD and I assure you that guy does not have good taste! I also assure you all my headlines are ten times better than that losuy review by some lousy reviewer!

- Patti Russo does not overact! She's done stage acting and is a very good actress for someone that has only been on stage.
- Meat (without Steinman) has a great sense of humour on the stage. That guy that wrote the review like I said does not have good taste thus he can't take Meat's extreme sense of humour like saying the dancers were caused by Victorian Bitter!
- Meat (with Steinman) is at his best. Meat has stated himself that he is only in competition with himself so he does not a big ego!
Paradise was at the best it could be. It's live performances have always gotten better over the years from "I'm taking the car! Oh yeah I'm taking the baby!", to "I cannot take another minute of you!" to the late nities era's "I got three words for ya... &!£* YOU!!!" to the famous "Shut up!" that has been used for the past twelve years (so I think anyway.)
- The orchestra took all of the songs performed on the DVD to the next level! Especially songs like AFL, FCOL, BOOH, (well all the songs really!)
- I have no clue about what a bad Las Vegas show is but I think it looked like an over the top show, not a bad Las Vegas show!
- The band do not have a low level of quality! The band are a mixture between Rock and Opera, Theatre Rock in a sense. It's hard for me not to go headbanging during the intense part of Frying Pan or the fast part of All Reved Up. The band have a great quality intense aspect to them.

So those were my headlines to the DVD. If I were to give the reviewer something to do, I'd get him to watch the DVD 1000 times or more until he gets some good taste. Even though I'd say he'd probably fall asleap.

Agreed - these type of reviews say more about the reviewer themselves and their need to get something (anything) in print...

Ya gotta laugh...

All Vegas shows are bad, that is what makes them so good!
