Default Johnny Cash Dies

It breaks my heart, it really does. He will be sorely missed.

NOOOOOOOOOOO .
He was my all time fav country singer.
This is such sad news .
I'll have to sing one of his songs tonight.
Rest in peace to the man in black, and condolences to his family.

nnooooooooooooooooooooooo
What a way to find out! My Dad and Uncle always used to play his songs.
I adore Ned Kelly, my Dad used to sing Bimbo to my son when he was little and I always think of Dad when I hear it.

God bless you Man in Black!

He was one of the greats.

Somewhere, up there, he will be laid on a cloud getting the angels to sing San Quentin!!!!

Hope you don't mind I was really upset at this news yesterday and shed a lot of tears. For the music and for the associations I have with it, namely my Ded and my uncle who are no longer with me.
I'd like to share this.......another of my favourites, and in a topic a while back I said this was the one I'd chosen for my own funeral
PREACHER SAID JESUS SAID
(Johnny Cash)
[ with Billy Graham ]

Well with everybody tryin' to tell us what to do
You wonder how are you to know whose word is true
But the preacher just keep on a bringing us a very same word
And from St Paul to Billy Graham the same is heard
And the preacher said of truth Jesus said
(And Jesus said I'm the way the truth and the life)

Well we can see that the world is full of greed
There's so much hate yet there is so much need
What should we do when no one seems to care
What can we do when there is no love there
And then the preacher said of love Jesus said
(Jesus said love Thy neighbor as Thyself)

Well please tell us the road we oughta go in such confusion how are we to know
And if there is a heaven show us to its gates
Oh you'd better tell us preacher before it's too late
And then the preacher said of heaven Jesus said
(Jesus said seek the first the kingdom of God snd his righteousness
And all these things shall be added unto you)

Well please tell us we can find a way to climb every mountain that we face every day
And time of troubles what to depend upon to be the truth and help us carry on
And the preacher said of trouble Jesus said
(Jesus said let not your heart be troubled if you believe in God believe also in me In my father's house are many mansions if it were not so I would have told you I go to prepare a place for you And if I prepare a place for you I will come again and recieve you unto myself
That where I am there you may be also)

I Feel really bad, I don't know who the man is. But, turns out a lot of people liked him. So I'd like to say, I bet he was a good man, and may he stay FOREVER YOUNG in our hearts......... and stereos.

Another great man died by the way. Maybe not as popular, but I have to mention his name. John Ritter,
from Three's Company, and 8 Simple Rules. Great man, really funny. Died pretty young too.

I'm surprised you haven't heard of him. . .

Anyway, the man's genius can be summed up in this lyric:

"When I was just a baby,
My momma told me, Son,
Always be a good boy,
Don't ever play with guns,
But I shot a man In Reno
Just to watch him now,
When I hear that whistle blowin,
I hang my head and cry".

Fantastic.

Yeah, it was in the newspaper this morning.
Anyone know the song "a boy called Sue"? That's a great song, very funny too.

He was sick for quite a while

I'm very sorry to go off topic here .. but we also lost John Ritter that same day, and that was very tragic. He was a great television and movie actor in the US ... clearly not as well known as Johnny Cash ... but was only 55 and died unexpectedly after he collapsed while at the studio filming a new tv series. He wasn't sick, but had a problem with his heart that even his doctors didn't know about ... when I heard the news on the radio, I almost burst out in tears because it was so sad.

So the US lost 2 great talents that day .. Johnny Cash and John Ritter. May they both rest in peace now
