Default BLACKOUT In TO/NY Meat Loaf story

I hope this isn't considered off topic, I just really wanted to share a nice little Meat Loaf related story with y'all

I don't know how many of you are aware of the MASSIVE blackout that happened in Ontario, Canada (almost the entire province!) and part of the US (New york, Detroit, Cleveland..and quite a few others) on Thursday.
Well I was sent home from work (thank god I wasn't one of the ones trapped in a subway!!!)

I walked for about an hour and a half over to my boyfriend's house since I couldn't take the subway all the way to my house .

To make a long story short(ish) with the power out, you could actually see stars in downtown Toronto!

Around 1 am, I sat on the roof of my boyfriends building with a battery equipped radio/cd player, a copy of CHSIB imported from the UK, and a whole bunch of musicians from his building to look at the stars in the city(my boyfriend is a jazz musician, and lives in a 'rehearsal/loft' building, so there are all sorts of quasi-famous and not-at-all-famous musicians.)

Well alot of them had not heard anything from CHSIB (it's not available in Canada yet) and they were saying some amazing things about the album, and Meats flawless, powerhouse delivery. I think the best comment that I heard was from this scary-looking vocalist in a fairly well-known Punk band in Toronto;

"God, he's such a fierce singer! I can't believe he can still sing like that!"

This whole evening was amazing, and I loved the fact that these usually jaded music types (from every style you can imagine, and they normally hate every type of music they don't make) were REALLY digging Meat's stuff....I think that's a great discription of his delivery too, a 'fierce singer'--very apt! Coming from a man with a huge black mohawk hairstyle, it's even more poignant

Well, it was a very odd night...and it's hard to translate in words, but I predict great success for this album when it comes out in Canada!!!-let's just say I ran it by a VERY tough test audience

I loved your story. I am so comforted when I listen to ML. I also have the new album and enjoy it very much. GREAT STORY! I wish could "convert" more people to him and his music.
