Default first draft of statment- wot u think??

ok folks managed to get a rough 1st draft of my personal statment. still missing some info tho. please let me kno wot you think.
I am now eighteen years old and about to complete a full-time course in NQ preparation for child care at SCQF level 5. I have succeeded in achieving all goals set throughout the course. I am now going on to do a National Certificate in child care and early education SCQF level 6 at Forth Valley College. In the future I see myself as a general nurse within a care setting, giving something worthwhile back to the community, which has itself, given much to me throughout my formative years.

I was educated at Sunnyside Primary school and Alloa Academy where I achieved the aforementioned qualifications. I would consider the fact that I have an intermediate two in care, a bonus in aiding my nursing training.

I wish to complete my diploma in nursing, maintain and develop my nursing skills, and by doing so, further my career. I can see myself undertaking a Masters Degree in either Nursing or Midwifery in the not too distant future.

In conclusion, I am a naturally caring person and believe that everyone should receive the best care possible. I am also an enthusiastic learner and wish to learn as much as I can in order to develop myself and career. I am a hard working and adaptable person who is determined to forge a successful career for herself within the nursing profession. I trust this personal statement is both informative and enlightening, should any further information be required, I will be more than happy to provide it.

My personal statement it art based which obviously is different to yours, but mine was a lot longer than this one. I was advised to include (off the top of my head);

My education and qualifications up until I wrote it...

A small paragraph as to why you're applying to where you are (small enough so that it can be removed or edited if you apply elsewhere)...

My influences (in art) - which artists have influenced my own work, or aspects of my work, or have inspired changes in my work...I guess for you that would be a load of drivvle about why you want to be a nurse...
What you aim to achieve from doing it all (which basically is expanding the last line of your first paragraph)

You also need to let them know what you're like as a person and what interests and activities you do that have nothing to do with nursing/caring - in mine I talked about music and what I've done involving motorsport, you need to show that you're an all-rounder.

You also need to say what you've got to offer the University. It needs to read less about you and more about what you can offer them.

A couple of tips i was given:

Try and find different way to start a sentence (It's too easy to start with "I" all the time)
Try and keep it to about 500 words
Be different and creative about it....remember that they read loads of these; standing out always helps. And make it personal; dont keep it really formal, let it flow naturally/briefly/relevently informal for a couple of lines when talking about the past or something.
