WOW! This song is amazing. It has got to be the most unsung effort of Steinman's career (besides "Safe Sex"). But, once again, after hearing it for the first time, I recognized (over) four melodies. The opening music on the piano (after: NO! NO! NO!) is the same as the opening of "More Than You Deserve". The whole song itself has identical melody to the first song in "The Confidence Man" - "New Orleans is Comin' to Me". After the first four lines in the chorus, the next ones are 'tweaked' rip-offs of the original lyrics from "New Orleans" by Ray Errol Fox. "Surf's up" is in the instrumental too (which I found quite amusing) and so is the little piano bit before "For taking in the rain..." and all those verses from "For Crying Out Loud". The A Cappella at the ending was good. All in all, despite the obvious recycling, it's a marvelous number. Pure epic Steinman. He really hit it this time. It's just a shame it wasn't entirely "original" (but, then again, it could've been his compliment to all the greatest musical moments of his career. I.E. like a combined patchwork quilt). I give it 9/10 (because it was recycled). What does the "Wuthering Heights" version sound like?
