Default Just put this on Facebook did not want to leave you guys out!!

Question: Why is this your farewell tour?

Answer:
Getting very tired of traveling, been going for 40 years. At 65 you just don't recover from anything as fast , people pay hard earned money for shows and I want every night to be great for them it is very important to me. Airplanes are nothing but big germ machines. So now to tour we have to take more time off between shows and with all the governments all over the world wanting to Tax the S>>T out you . and all the costs going up ... Truth, I make 80% less on a tour than I did in the 90's. Getting money from Record Company's is like getting blood from a rock. Were are booking a few more US shows and may go to South Africa in 2014. but put a fork in me . Hoping we are doing a TV show with My Daughters and my Son in Law Scott Ian from Anthrax. Wow you got a lot.
PS. just UK Fan Club
Looks like we will be doing a Storytellers type show in Vegas Starting sept20th for 4 weeks, 4 shows a week 2 on Sat. .They are short only 85mins . Why? They are running 2 other acts during the same time . So 3 acts playing
the same room during the week . And going back the month of DEC. So there is some news you are the first to know about . The Deal is not done , it could fall apart... It is show Biz.

The RAF has a base out in Vegas.... I know where I'm going to put in a request for! Shame I'll probably still be in basic/trade in September though if all goes wall! Bah!

Thanks for letting us know Meat, sounds really great. If circumstances allow I would love to come to the US to catch some of your shows. Is there any chance you will bring your farewell tour to Australia? Would love to see you here for one last time.

Understandable...sounds like more cons than pros with costs et al. BUT that TV show sounds pretty cool.

+1 Maybe a theatre like the Lowry in Salford? Be brilliant for a storytellers type show and you probably wouldn't get ripped off trying to put on a show, I've seen tickets to some shows as low as a few pounds!

Have we known that sooner or later Meat would call time on touring, To that the answer is yes because nobody can go on forever.

Does anyone here want Meat to do as he once said in an interview & die on stage? No

For me Meat has given me close to 35 years of his life & I have been fortunate to see him live more times than many would say is sane.

From the bottom of my heart I truly wish Meat a long & peacefull retirement, well as peacefull as it can be with grandchildren around, because touring or not Meat will always be part of my life & for that no words can ever express my gratitude.

Meat, you need to do what is right for you and your family. Your fans are always going to be around. If you do the shows in Vegas then great the fans will be there to see you. If the deal falls apart then it wasn't meant to be. I can't imagine what it would be like to put on a show like you do and have to travel and live out of a hotel at my age of 31 let alone doing it at 65.

I think you need to take some time off and just enjoy being a husband, a father, and a grandfather!
