OK I will admit, Les Miserablé is one of my favourites, love the music and characters and being MB was the original Marius I am always skeptical when someone does a cover a bit like anyone covering Elvis and when she said that she was going to do Fantine's song when she dreams about Cosette, her daughter I thought, 'Oh no ! Please don't ruin it because I love this song !' But she sang I Dreamed A Dream absolutely amazingly and I am still amazed at what a brilliant voice this woman has... Wow is right !!

They've found Paul Potts long lost sister...LOL

Is it WOW! solely based on her voice or the fact that she's not very good looking and she can sing? Had I just heard her voice I wouldn't have thought she was anything special compared to other singers on Broadway or the West End. That said, Paul Potts voice wasn't anything special either and he got his big break, so good luck to the woman and I hope she wins.

Well, it was certainly WOW for me personally...

AND...she has made news here...so she must be WOW to others too...

In any event...judging by her age, her voice should actually be getting worse...so what was it like when she was young and where the heck was she before...

It's made news here too, but they've called her 'A frumpy 47-year-old Scottish charity worker who has never had a boyfriend' as opposed to just a 'fantastic singer'.

If people are completely honest, they're not just wowed by voice alone.

she's already had a cd out apparantly, going for about £600 now on ebay and amazon, originally done for charity, so not quite as undiscovered as first thought.

I agree with pud, nothing so special, great voice, yes, but not out of this world, looks and life story makes her more interesting.
I guess telling millions of viewers that you're a 47yr old never been kissed weird looking cat lady can work wonders for you after all

Apart from nearly falling off my chair, spewing my coffee over the keyboard, my sides have just split with laughter I know of lots of spinsters who have a strange fascination with cats and are weird looking.
