A while ago I watched snippets of a Meat Loaf 'film' on Sky, for the life of me I can'y remember which channel.
I think the film was the same title as the book (To Hell And Back?) I've asked the local shops if they stock or can get hold of any ML videos - every reply being no! Does any body know about the film, the exact title and where I may be able to get it? Much appreciated Rich |

The film that you mean is 'To Hell And Back' which stars W. Earl Brown (I think) as Meat Loaf.
Im not sure if you can buy it but it was recently on VH-1s Meat Loaf Night, so im sure that it will be on again soon. Be Warned though it's absoloute **** |

I think the film was a big pile of dog's bollocks.

The film was "To Hell and back" and is regularly on Sky. Go to www.cableguide.co.uk and search for "Meat Loaf" to find out when it is next on! Not a great film but well worth a look!

Thought the film was o.k, but I see what you mean about missing out a large part of his life, didn't totally realise how much was missed out until recently when I read To Hell and Back.

I felt that too much artistic licence was taken with the bio-pic. Inaccuracies everywhere and too much left out (I guess stuff had to be left out though to fit in). I haven't seen it in ages. I don't think they even mentioned Bad For Good.
And it seemed too low-budget. I was hoping for something on cinematic released (not a tv movie). I thought Meat deserved more. If anyone wants to learn about Meat's life, I would definitely tell them to read the book and not pay too much attention to the movie. |

I found it an enjoyable biopic, and no less accurate or omitting than any biopic of someone who's led a colourful and long career. There is more in the book for sure, but that didn't stop me enjoying the movie. I wouldn't call it the dogs bollocks .. but nor would I say it was a pile of bollocks

Come on you lot - It's a pathetic film with poor acting and could have been a lot better.
I hate the bits where 'Meat'(i.e not Meat) is performing 'Live' when infact they are performing to the original versions of the song. I know that you couldn't get an actor to sing like Meat but why not mime to some Live versions of the songs to make it sound a bit more real. Also the actor looks like he might have listened to the songs only a couple of times before acting out the scenes cos his timing is way off and what the hell is goin on with the actors eyes??????? It is just a very low budget made for TV film and I hope that one day a better version of tthis film is made because it has the potential to be excellent. |

That's your opinion .. imo it wasn't "pathetic". Not great, but not terrible. And I thought W Earl had gone to a lot of trouble to portray Meat.
