I think both albums are underrated in the sense that each could be viewed as the follow up to Bat Out Of Hell, and while both have some songs as good as the first album, neither achieved anywhere near the same success.

The four year delay, the parting of the ways and the diluted effort of two follow up albums compromised the (comparative) success of both.
