W. Earl Brown and Dedee Pfeiffer Star in 'Meat Loaf: To Hell and Back,'

True Story of Rock Star's Battle With Personal Demons

NEW YORK, April 7 /PRNewswire/ -- VH1 has begun production on the exclusive
original made-for-TV movie, "Meat Loaf: To Hell and Back," it was announced
today by Jeff Gaspin, Executive Vice President, Programming and Production,
VH1.

"The personal price of fame is a timeless theme in drama, and as proven by
'Behind The Music' can often be even more compelling when played out in a
rock star's real life," said Gaspin. "'Meat Loaf: To Hell and Back"
explores the human costs of music stardom in a poignant tale of the
true-life rise, fall and rise again of a rock icon."

"Meat Loaf: To Hell and Back" tells the dramatic true story of one of
rock's most unlikely superstars, who followed overnight fame in the 1970s
with career-killing professional problems as well as the onslaught of
personal demons -- and came roaring back a decade later. W. Earl Brown
("There's Something About Mary," "Scream") stars in the title role, and
Dedee Pfeiffer ("Cybill," "For Your Love") portrays his wife Lesie. Shot on
location in Los Angeles, "Meat Loaf: To Hell and Back" was written by Ron
McGee and will be directed by Jim McBride ("Breathless," "The Big Easy,"
"Great Balls of Fire"). Jeff Freilich ("Executive of Justice") is Executive
Producer. Lauren Zalaznick is VH1 Senior Vice President of Original
Programming and Development; Michael Larkin is VH1's Vice President of
Motion Pictures for Television.
