Peter Davison was the Doctor when I first started watching the show so he is "the first" for me, and once I eventually saw all the available shows I found that I liked the Pertwee/UNIT era best of all. Somewhere I have a rather silly picture of me as a teen hunched over a TARDIS control panel at a convention- oh my!

It did end. However it's being re-started, Proper cgi and everything. I'm looking forward to it.
