I remember a topic quite recently (I think it was about a German tv appearance)where Meat said he was not allowed to sing live.A lot of tv shows are like that these days.
Also I imagine that the more complicated numbers with a lot of backing singers would take a lot of time to sound check.I supose that sometimes there just isn't enough time.
