No. It was about the British charts, which I think is a load of crap at the moment. There are no real singers or musicians to speak of, it is all dance, garage, hip-hop (which is all the same anyway).

Where are the likes of Metallica, U2, Guns n Roses, these bands have been going for years, but because they don't get the air time on the radio, the kids of today aren't being exposed to different types of music, they are being brainwashed with crap like the numerous boy bands, rappers and dance people (can't even call them singers). The kids aren't getting enough experience of music to make an opinion so they go with the flow.
Hey, I'm 16. I can still remember the time when it meants something to be No1. It meant nothing from about 99 onwards. . .so to have a time, when it does mean that much to be at No1 is comforting.
As for the charts, yes it's all crap, so isn't it nice to see a guitar band [The Darkness] who write damn good rock songs (they're album is definately not aimed at 10-12 year olds) for a change. There are two damn good songs in the top three, hasn't happened in years. . .

And I'm 16. . .young, impressionable, and I go out of my way to find good music, so all is not lost.

Oh, and Metallica haven't released a good record since the Black album, and U2 have been slipping since the mid-90's.
