Ive just watched the video for Man Of Steel (can be viewed from
http://www.meatloaf.de) and what can i say...
I think its terrible... embarrassing even. If you havent yet seen it, its basically a clumsy animation, with lots of annoying screaching tire sound effects... (oh, and guess what? - we have even got a flying bat / man thing - just to keep the cliche alive). The video puts me in mind of Dire Straits - Money For Nothing video, which, i think im correct in saying, was the first computer generated video to be produced for MTV? At least the Dire Straits video has an excuse - it was produced in the early 1980s!
The Man Of Steel video / single is yet another mighty fine excuse for me to have a dig at the half-hearted approach by the record label over the entire CHSIB release.
I dont know, maybe some of you guys will love it? (different i suppose)... im just frustrated that i dont work for Meat because i wouldnt let them get away with treating my work in the way that they have treated CHSIB...
At least in the days of Virgin Records, there was attention to detail. You got the impression that at least someone cared.
To quote: I remember how it used to be...
Ewan :)
(ok, so im also really upset because i wont get to see Meat in Manchester this Wednesday either... out of 5 tickets i bought for this tour... i havent seen him once... sob, sob, sniff...)
