Not to drag this off-topic, but on this particular point I can offer personal insight not unlike TWG's on
Bat: that's more or less exactly the situation as it currently stands. The influence of Broadway is stronger on the West End, in particular, than on continental Europe, which is why
Tanz's success throughout Europe has continued unabated but it has never touched London. (And not for lack of trying; some West End luminaries were invited to see the recent Paris production and turned the show down flat.)
