Well I became a fan right before Bat 3 came out, and the first Meat sound I heard was the video for CHSIB. No, Meat doesn't sound anything like he did during that time, but Caryl nailed it. It's about so much more than the voice for me. I could whine and bitch that he doesn't sound exactly how he did when I first got excited about Meat Loaf, or I could accept what is happening and enjoy the experience that is happening NOW. Having said all that, I do think that towards the end of this leg, Meat's voice did need a rest. There were some parts of some videos that I was like oh Meat....you're really having to work hard and his voice just wasn't cooperating. So I hope he gives himself some time to R & R before the most important leg of the tour (which is arguably Canada :P) He's almost 70 for crying out loud. I'm glad he's decided to add the guide vocals so he can sing in a lower key. It's a great compromise, and helps to keep his confidence up for each show, even if his voice is having an off day. And when it's not, it still has lots of power and is exciting for me to watch :)
