The show itself is brilliant but for me one of the things that made it so special and unique was the feeling and the atmosphere in the theatre. To see Meat in such an intimate venue with every single person hanging off his every word...not sure that would translate to DVD to be honest.
A DVD will capture the songs, the lights, the effects, the "Vegas extras"...will it capture the magic, I'm not sure, I hope to be proved wrong! |
I agree with all of that .. and from what Meat's said here I think he has the same reservations. However .. there will be so many people who cannot make it to Vegas, and Meat has stopped touring, so I hope down the line they do feel able to capture the show on DVD for all those fans. Perhaps if it goes to theatres it might prove easier? There wouldn't be an ABBA tribute waiting to get in after Meat before the seats were cold
.. it could run a little longer, and with a different layout the show would present a little differently and might more easily be captured.
The producers did say they wanted to make a DVD. I would see this as something later down the road. And while it might not capture all the magic we experienced, it would still imo be very special for those who will never be able to see it live. And I would buy and treasure it as a souvenir of a wonderful experience
