Many films are shot on location anyway. Also his film production company is based in Texas isn't it? Perhaps he might want to move that way. He certainly has the skills to direct as well as act.
Yes, he's often said he wants to die on stage. I suspect his family would rather not have that happen .. and I wouldn't want to be at that show! He is driven to perform .. but has other ways of being creative and performing.
There is I suspect so much hassle with promoters too. They like extended tours, with show after show. Meat's tours here may be short for them, plus he needs rest days for his voice .. and imo they're greedy. It's they who call the shots much of the time, not Meat, who just works his ass off and tries to pare the budgets to keep ticket prices down.
I think he's fine with long distance travel .. (you can make a case that once they're over here, the travel between gigs is far less than in the USA or Australia) .. but extended periods on the road must get in the way of enjoying life, and the logistics of shipping everything must be massive and costly.
I don't know how many shows in the UK you've been to Nikox .. but arena roofs get raised regularly here too. Perhaps with less drink, thinking back to my last show in Belfast! Thanks for saying we're not BAD fans ..
I think it was Andy perhaps who recently posted that tours these days were the way artists made money from recordings, because they don't make much from record sales themselves. As money isn't the big motivator for Meat, I don't see him releasing an album as necessarily having to be accompanied by a big tour. If he can capitalise on more up to date recording methods, and achieve good sales, I see no reason why his creative output shouldn't continue without him having to go on the road for over a year each time to promote them.

I think that Meat will always be on the stage as that is the one place where he is very comfortable and in total control. He can change anything as his immediate discretion. I do believe that he loves the role of an actor and all that it gives him in opportunities, but deep down he is really into the character Meat Loaf he created and loves to play.
I also think that aside from the financial benefits of touring, it keeps his voice where he wants it to be. No matter what the period, he always started a major tour before he recorded an album. Not many artists do this and sometimes I think they probably should. Again my opinion as to why he sounds so good vocally.
