I think this is funny too, especially since my son is completely sure that Patti is his wife and will not be convinced any differently!  What's odder about the newspaper caption is that I am fairly sure that I remember from other photos of this event that Meat's fiancee Deborah attended this event with him. I could be confusing it with another event, but I seem to remember that dress that Patti had on.

I'm not sure that Deborah was on this event. Deborah was not to be on pictures that I have seen. Only MEAT and Patti.
A few days after this award thing I meet MEAT and Patti backstage by the german TOTP - without Deborah!
