THink you have to go to your Profile, and there you can make some changes to your profile, also the smilies!!
Or, at the bottom, when you type a message / reply, there is a option: Disable Smilies in This Post!!!
And if there is a V in it, just click on it to undo that, and you can also add smilies!!
