Afternoon presenter Craig Huggins was recording an interview with Meat Loaf shortly before he was due to go on air at 4pm when (a bat out of) hell broke loose.
"I told Meat Loaf I'd need to wrap up the interview because I was on air in three minutes, to which he replied: 'Well, we've got three minutes left then,' " Huggins reports.
"I said no, I had to finish up now to get over to the studio. He bundled me up and wouldn't let me leave, consequently we went off air and our stand-by tape came on."
Studio technicians bravely stormed in to free the DJ, whom Meat Loaf then followed into the on-air studio. Once the microphone was turned on, the singer grabbed it and told listeners the station had gone off the air because he'd taken the announcer hostage.
"Whilst no station likes to go off the air, it was very funny," Huggins said.
With events like these unfolding almost under their noses, crime-stopping duo Grubby and Dee Dee will need to turn their attention closer to home or risk the wrath of Crime Stoppers International. Guys, you have been put on notice.
