My thoughts also, and I can't see the point anyway in trying to determine whether I prefer one over the other. It's like trying to say which is better out of Fawlty Towers and Fools & Horses. Both were gems, just as Cheers and Frasier. Each was great, each was of its time. The writing was imo a bit sharper in Frasier, which is not to say Cheers wasn't pretty sharp, and I agree with those who say the Niles character was pure gold
