It is totally different to the stuff Meat Loaf has done before but that's one of the reason's I like it. It's a bit like the album title - it makes people stop and go "what's that?".
This is on the jukebox at my local pub and every time I put it on I see heads nodding along and people tapping their feet. Guaranteed every time I've put it on people have asked me who it is. Had TFI Friday still been around today and Meat had went on that instead of The One Show, he'd have sold a bucket load with this. Everyone tells me how catchy they think this song is - even the ones who said they didn't like it the first time they heard it.
Anyway, I totally disagree that Meat's vocal is no good. Quite the opposite in fact. Having listened to James Michael's own version of it, Meat's vocal is what brings this song alive. For me this is by no means a weak track on the album and I play it a lot.
