Meat Loaf the rock character is a very dominant character and some of the latest serious characters Meat plays are the anti-Meat. You almost have to separate the two.

Be it on TV or the Silver Screen: roles such as Citizen Jane, Focus, Rustin, and the House episode....are far removed from rock star. Now a role like on Monk was harder to take the rock star persona away from the witch doctor. For me, if Meat has a character that can go weird or over the top, it's going to be tougher for me to not see his music stage influence on that character
(such as in Formula 51 or Black Dog).
