I think it was an achievement for him
He doesn't like performing live on TV, but he seems on such a fighting high now, and it must have felt good to have nailed the performance.
I liked seeing his generosity and graciousness, always a Meat hallmark, as he made a point of thanking and seeking the audience's recognition for each group of musicians who backed the performance.
Yes, a special performance, a special night :)
