Its not silly question. Meat don't get a penny because Meat has been signed under a variety of labels over the years. Labels can make compilation albums using songs Meat has recorded under their label. The record labels like to think they own the songs. Therefore they do as they please. Anything to make a extra buck.
I've only bought 2 ML compilations album over the years. Hits Out Of Hell DVD and Very Best Of. And that went to my Very Best Of ex girlfriends
