It's where you show up for another supposed event (in this case, it's her 30th birthday) and suddenly you are told there are to be nuptials instead.
Clearly there's no surprise for either the bride or the groom because of all the legalities involved ahead of time.
Obviously, you don't tell a blabbermouth either (as in this case) or the game's up.
Hubby's over there already, helping set up the 30th birthday party and trying to look suitably surprised.
