You sound like my mate Angie... who doesn't have children... but does have a rather large pond at the bottom of her garden, that her niece is extremely used to...
On one occasion I took my eldest, Jordan, there, he'd have been about 3 at the time, and I asked her to keep an eye on him while I went to the loo.. I came out and asked where he was, to be told 'he's okay, he's down at the pond, looking at the fish'...
I didn't quite manage to sprint fast enough to catch him before he fell in, and we both got covered in extremely stinky green slime as a result... Needless to say, I haven't taken him back since.
