Dear JJ
Please don't worry about asking anyone about anything (within reason) on these forums. I hope you have seen in your time here that it is really a community sharing views and thoughts with the common bond of Meat Loaf.
Now a postwhore could have a different meanings dependant on which side of the fence you are on
It is generally accepted that a postwhore is a forum member who makes posts for the sake of posting to increase their post count and subsequently their rank.
From time to time this becomes a bone of contention, when it spreads across the boards to all topics and the posts just consist of a single word or single smilie, or indeed going off of the topic title.
If I am correct the "Off Topic" area was created to give members an area to share the trials and tribulations of daily life, therefore freeing up the other forums from chatty topics.
However even in the relevent threads that enable you to postwhore it has been mutually agreed that: there will be no posts of just single words. No sentences carried out over a series of posts.
In the appropriate places it is a source of fun, catching up with friends and communication, however at the other extreme if abused it can become a real pain, as you have to wade through lots of nonsense to get to the message of the issue of a topic.
