An extract from today's Daily Mail:
"Charles arrived via a helecopter at 5pm in time to see Big Brovaz and Liberty X. He sat in the Royal Box between Destiny's Child singer Beyonce Knowles - in red hot pants - and the outsize rocker Meat Loaf.
The compere, Duncan from the boy band Blue, called on the prince to stand so the audience could see him. But Charles was engrossed in conversation with Meat Loaf and failed to hear him.
The prince turned to Beyonce and said 'What was that?' before realising, standing and waving to the crowd.
A friend of Charles said: 'He was particularly looking forward to seeing Meat Loaf perform and was disappointed when he found he'd missed him.'
During their conversation, Meat Loaf doubtless took the opportunity to complain to Charles that the organisers broke their promise to allow him a 30-minute set.
They told him just before he went on stage that he was being allowed only half that time. After 20 minutes, when he carried on singing, they turned off his microphone.
It's absolutely shameful Meat should have been treated this way, particularly as he had the guts, honesty and professionalism to be, I believe, the only artist to play a totally live set.
At least Prince Charles has just gone up in my estimation. Meat has earned the Royal seal of approval. Cool!!!
Meat should put the PITP experience behind him and maybe play another solo concert for The Prince's Trust at the Royal Albert Hall, like he did in 1994, where his amazing and unique talents would be properly appreciated and respected.
Rock on Fire Ball!!!
