All three songs were edited to the bone; I imagine the extent of those edits probably bothered Meat a lot, but he handled it very well. The editing did keep the most recognizable parts of all three songs intact.
I thought Meat went ahead and emphasized even more than he usually does the dramatics of all three songs. He didn't have time to slowly sink into each song as much as he likes to, so he seemed deeply focused before he began and put himself right into the heavy parts - when he started singing especially AFL and BAAB, he was already deep in, and tuning out the noise from the audience.
He sounded great, especially in BAAB.
The show's emphasis on HipHop/Rap and very modern rock is the reason why I usually go to bed right after the ball drops. Meat was the only reason why I stuck with it this year. But Natasha Bedington was good also and outside of the HipHop/Rap, as was Christina Aguilera.
