Not one of my favorites,but not a bad song all the same.
This was Meat's first album away from Jim Steinman (apart from Meat Loaf & Stoney)and the fantasy art covers.The music is very different in style so it took me a couple of weeks to get under it's skin,except Razor's Edge which jumped off the album and grabed me by the throat (also Wolf At Your Door and Fallen Angel).
I think Midnight (the song) is lika a story from The Twilight Zone.I just have this image of a little club in the middle of nowhere that no one can leave.The beer is flowing and the jukebox plays on,but everybody has always been there and they always will be.A strange interperatation

,it's just how it hits me.
It's a hard song to sing.Every time I sing it at work my chest hurts like hell.There are not many places in the song where you can take a good deep breath.
