I disagree ... I think it suits him perfectly. I just wish I had been able to go see one of the shows when he did the Storytellers tour
To me Storytellers is more like a documentary, not a concert, and it's great just to sit back and relax, watching / listening to Meat tell the stories about the songs. Meat's got a great sense of humor, and it really shines through during the entire show. If I want to watch a true Meat Loaf concert, I watch the MSO DVD
The two DVDs compliment each other perfectly.
