Default Best Concerts

Every summer the oldies station in Denver has Kool Concert and has a lot of the old acts. My daughter wanted to go a year or 2 ago so I got tickets. We missed most of the Tokens but she got to hear "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" so she was happy. She loved the Crystals and they put on a great show. I've always loved Gary Puckett but she didn't. The Four Tops were absolutely awesome tho' and had the crowd up and on their feet and singing to beat the band. I grew up 65 miles west of Detroit and grew up on CKLW and Motown so that was a blast. (I looked over and found my 15 year old singing every word with the TOPS and THAT threw me for a loop!) Chuck Berry was the main act and was such a disappointment. It was so bad that most people left. I felt bad for him in a way but I stayed for about 20 minutes because I wanted to see the immortal Chuck Berry. It wasn't that he was so bad it's just that you could tell that he was on something and there were so many dead spaces in his part of the show and he fired one of his band members and then rehired him back by the end of the show . . . it was just bad. And a real let down after the TOPS had gotten the crowd so pumped up. This year it's a 2 day show and I can't wait tho'.
