Where the slender foxglove blooms
And the roses lift their heads
Where the dainty dew drop glistens
Upon the petals red
We ran alongside the river
And paddled in its glassy air
Remember when I held you close
And stroked your sun- kissed hair?
We played and frolicked the hurried day through
Till the tawny sun bled scarlet
We ended the day with a soft sugar kiss
Like a finished writer’s sonnet.
