Euh Dottie,
to get the color put the text between the to [....] thingies.
So it will go as follows:
1. choose collor
2. then this will appear in the message box [collor=red][/color]
3. put the text between those two, like [color = red] to get the color [/ color ] (without space between it)
4. press submit and see if it works
