Not exactly RJ! ;) There have been rumours all over the net that 20th Century Fox are interested in doing a remake of Rocky Horror. Marilyn Manson said in an interview that he has been approached by Fox to play the part of Frank N Furter. It's obviously early days and there's no confirmation that Marilyn Manson has accepted the role or that the movie will even get made.

I love RHPS, but a remake? I dont know...
Dont think that Manson would be a good choice, is not comical enough, and too threatening to play Frank N Fürter...
I´m kinda curious who´d play Eddie...

djfierce 08 Feb 2007 19:29

i think marylin is very comical ;)
though maybe not in the right way

Blackkat13 08 Feb 2007 21:47

True he is but I am getting very sick of Hollywood Remakeing great movies only to ruin them....I would be scaried and worried that they would make it darker and scary then what the orgianl is

RadioMaster 08 Feb 2007 22:01

I´d surely would watch it, but I truly cant see how this 70s songs could work in a remake. The only way would be, and I´m afraid it will come so, to cover these songs in the typical MM sound. *shivver*

Blackkat13 08 Feb 2007 23:15

Well true I'd give it a look and I agree radio they would cover the songs like Manson's sound....kinda wonder how it would come out but wonder how RHPS fans would take it and would the orginal cast go and see it?

RadioMaster 08 Feb 2007 23:17

judging from songs like Tainted Lover or Personal Jesus, I would say he´ll scew it :(

Blackkat13 08 Feb 2007 23:21

True...only thing scary about him is my folks bought his greatest hits cd and my dad love Beatiful People. He loves the drums and my folks when he made it big where like Alice copper, Ozzy Osbourne, just another gimmic

djfierce 08 Feb 2007 23:28

yeah dont think it would work, he;s just a little too creepy to pull it off but you never know ;)

Blackkat13 08 Feb 2007 23:37

I mean think of it Whold play the parts?

Frankenfurther ???
Colmubia ???
Riff Raff ???
Magenta ???
Eddie ???
Janet ???
Brad ???
Dr. Scott ???
Rocky

AndyK 08 Feb 2007 23:44

I'd rather not ... the whole idea of a remake of Rocky Horror makes me shudder, some things just shouldn't be touched!

vrg 08 Feb 2007 23:50

I agree. That was the original and should stay as the only one. Can't picture anyone doing those roles except for the original cast. I know we are prejudice for Meat as Eddie, but this applies to the other roles as well.

RadioMaster 09 Feb 2007 00:00

I think it´d be a cool idea, if Meat would play the part of Dr Scott, this time.

Blackkat13 09 Feb 2007 20:52

Yeah that would be a good idea

Jayd 10 Feb 2007 19:33

Nooooooo, no remake. What is it nowadays with film studios. They pay people thousands of dollars to come up with ideas for films, and guess what, the idea they come up with is to remake a cult classic. Please can I have a job Fox, I can come up with lots of ideas. Remake Alien, remake Independance Day, remake, remake remake. leave RH alone, and come up with some good new original ideas. And Marilyn Manson, of all people, he is more freaky than Frank'n'Furter to start with. :D

RadioMaster 10 Feb 2007 19:54

It is easier to produce remakes and sequels, people already know the original and will more likely go and see the new one.

Blackkat13 10 Feb 2007 21:14

Well they ruined 13 Ghosts, House on Haughted Hill, The Hitcher, Lost in Space, Stepford Wifes, ETC...... Plus were stealing movies like the grugde from japan an makeing it american. Didn't they learn with Godizillia you don't touch stuff like that.

The only thing easier about it, is that they don't have to come up with a storyline. They cost more to make these days, and for someone to go see something they have seen previously in a different version, they are expecting an improvement on the original, and that is not happening with alot of remakes. There is no need to remake RHPS, it is a cult classic, and should be left alone, there is nothing to improve on, no one will ever match the performance of Tim Curry, he made Frank'n'Furter his own. All the cast in RHPS, were excellent, and I totallt disagree on a remake. It is just another ploy, to extract money from the public. :D

Monstro 10 Feb 2007 22:44

Please god no!!!!!!

MeatGrl1 10 Feb 2007 22:58

Tim Curry will and always will be my top Frank'N'Furter and
Meat Loaf will and always be my all time favourite Eddie!

If a remake is to be made then do not expect me to support it!

snowy 11 Feb 2007 00:00

You can't improve upon perfection!!!!

Blackkat13 11 Feb 2007 21:55

Yeah but watch some fool like Tim Burton will want to direct it and make it into a darker version. Look at Willy Wonka.... :(

Monstro 11 Feb 2007 21:56

Great....Oompa Loompa's in stockings singing Timewarp, I can see it now.

RadioMaster 11 Feb 2007 22:35

LOL

thanks for the picture michael
