I agree Michael!

geordieloaf 08 Feb 2007 17:34

now that was crap. if you want singing comedy go to youtube and watch Stephen Lynch he is really funny.

RadioMaster 08 Feb 2007 18:09

What do you want? That´s the typical MAD and MAD TV style of homour. It´s not everybody´s taste, but some like it.

djfierce 08 Feb 2007 19:25

i've seen lots of madtv stuff that is funny, no it's not everyone's taste, but they are allowed to say if they like it or not ;)

I still dont get the 'ironic' statment,i'm not being rude just thick at best but i dont understand how it is ironic?

LostSoul 11 Feb 2007 16:04

"Ironic" ain't the right word but it might be fun if Meat practices self-mockery...

For as much as I am not a crazed fan...and actually am a fan of MadTV...I found this sketch dumb and offensive...

RadioMaster 11 Feb 2007 16:47

I dont really like the MAD humor....

I think the word to describe it is a parody, ie a musical or literary composition that mimics the style of another in a humorous way. I don't think any offence is intended to Meat or his fans.

Parody is what it is but ironic is a comment so i'm still confused but anyway it's not that important.
I'm sure they didnt mean any offence at all but i just feltthe one subject went on too much, there are many ways to poke fun at Meat, it just seemed to me that they picked the most obvious one and stuck with it all the way thru making it a little boring and inane in my opinion ;)

Actually they made fun at various aspects of Meat Loaf. We´ve got the being-fat, always eating, the outfit, the long hair, the over the top singing and the brandishing arms, the whole acting thing.

I think it is clearly meant offensive, but every modern comedy is, especially if it´s about one person.
Modern comedy is always offensive, but people got a so called "sense of humour" that lets them take not everything too serious.

mszee 11 Feb 2007 21:42

You know...I have sense of humor...and I do understand parodies...and I am not a crazed fan...and still this one...somehow is distatestul...

RadioMaster 11 Feb 2007 21:44

that was absolutely meant not offensive at you, Zina. Sorry if you got it wrong.

geordieloaf 11 Feb 2007 21:45

People find different things funny. Don't suppose there is anything wrong with that.
Some people can't stand Chubby Brown were as i finding him very funny. World would be pretty boring if everyone found the same things funny.
I didn't find offensive just not very original.

No, I didn't take personal offence whatsoever...I am still talking about that video...there is something way too much and too wrong about it for me to be just an innocent parody...

djfierce 11 Feb 2007 23:06

RJ, a sense of humour is matter of opinion and personal taste, hence some finding it funny and others not. I dont understand why you seem to be getting quite vexed about this :? They may have mentioned other things but thy harped on about the size more than anything, keeping on going back to it over and over.
I dont think anyone is taking it too seriously, merely commenting on whether and why they like it or not is not taking it too seriously.
Geordieloaf is absolutely right, I hate 'ole Chubby' but loved Bill Hicks who was considered way more controversial.I also love MadTV, most of their stuff has me in stitches but occasionally they do overdo it a bit, not just with Meat but with other artists and celebrity's i wouldnt spit on.
It's not fair to say people have no sense of humour just cos they say they dont like it :?

RadioMaster 12 Feb 2007 00:40

am I?

sorry, I was quite busy with other things when I wrote that, let me try to explain, what I meant.

Sense of humour might be the wrong expression...

A sense of humour is the personal taste in humour, but I was talking about tolerate things even if you dont think it´s funny, cause other people might find it funny.

Not sure if this makes sense...

djfierce 12 Feb 2007 02:00

no worries ;) i was typing in a hurry too

i understand what you're getting at, i just didnt see any people not tolerating it, just stating that they didnt like it and why, we do it with Meat's songs so why not about parady's of him :?
Anyway *extends hand to RJ in a gesture to shake on it and make up* :))

Pudding 14 Feb 2007 09:57

I prefer the song without the video, but still very funny. The bloke kinda reminds me of ~~~~~~~~~~

Pud

Skeleton 14 Feb 2007 12:21

The video was interesting because it has subtitles in Finnish..

But othervise it was pretty stupid, ironic yes. Some of the people likes that kind of humor..

Chris 15 Feb 2007 09:44

I fear I may be in the minority but i found it fairly amusing.
I must admit that like pudding, i fidn the song better without the video but hey ho.
Now if omeone culd just find the video to Pull My Finger....
