I know that you won't agree with me but it's not more than a simple rock song. If I compare with other songs I'd say Meat & Ted Nugent songs. In this song the guitars are the most important. It was the first very unusual song by Meat Loaf what I've heard. I prefer piano over the guitar in the songs you know.
Well, I can't tell more that it's very simple to me.

Why? It's my opinion. Well, you give 8, 9, 10 to all songs. You say Amnesty Is Granted 10! For Crying Out Loud 10! I'd Do Anything For Love 10! Where is the different. How could you give same scores to - for example - For Crying Out Loud and Amnesty Is Granted??? How?

A very powerfull rock song. Music comparable with CHSIB. Good chorus.

I gave "For Crying Out Loud" and "I'd Do Anything For Love" a 10+/10! And I also gave any songs only a 3,4,5/10! (e.g. a few songs on "ML & Stoney" or "Blind Before I Stop") I also rated songs with 6,7,8/10! (e.g. a few songs on "Midnight at..." or any rare songs) So, I do not give every song a 9 or 10, even 10+! But e.g. "Amnesty Is granted" (to stay on topic) is one of the best and most genious rock songs, I've ever heard!! And yes, it is nearly as good as "Anything For Love"!!

And yes, that's the second time I said: Shame on you! Because I can't understand, if somebody gives this masterpiece only a 5! When I said it for the first time, the reason was, that you don't like the new album. You need to understand: Not only the Steinman songs are best! There are enough other incredible ones!

And due to the fact, cuz you said in the "I'd Lie For You" thread: "Diane Warren copied "Anything For Love"", you get a third "Shame on you!" Diane Warren isn't Steinman, but she is a great song writer! And you, my friend, are not allowed to compare "I'd Lie For You" with "Anything For Love"! Beacause the songs are so different to each other. So due to this, it can't be a copy! You can say, that you like the one more than the other, but do not compare it!

I was just listening to a live version of it! And it is so great, so long and so powerfull! Best i've heard.

Great guitars in it, and the lyrics..... maybe in this time this song must be played more often!

This has got to be one of the best covers meat has ever done ordinary rock song yes if you hear Sammy's original. But Meat as he dose 99% of the time with his power, emotion, drama, and sheer energy has transformed it in to an ... Kicking monster way to go Big Man 8)

Its a pretty decent song. Fits well with the album i think i'd say a 7/10

A great "balls to the wall" rocker, the live version is incredible by itself! I like the simple, not over-produced sound of this track.

a great duet of meat with sammy

honestly saying you would expect this song sooner on a Sammy Hagar or Van Halen Record than on a Meat loaf's one

but since it rocks your socks off.

This is the best song on the album! Okay so there are ones neck to neck, really close. But this is an awesome song. I love guitar, and that is a big reason why I like this song. It is well done. its an 10+\10. Sammy Haggar and Meat Loaf, thats a duet. (for just two guys that I heard so far) very good song. LOVE IT!!!! Always played loud, no matter what time of day, its truely an amazing song! I give a lot of 10's out I know. But jeez you know, its incredible how each song can have such a powerful reason of what it makes its best of its kind.

This song never worked for me either. Not one of the better efforts.

I like this song a lot, espeically the live version from the beacon theater...love his facial expression towards the end when he starts singing 'lord knows lord knows lord knows oh it's granted'
