Beer Butt Chicken

Anyone fancy trying this?

Ageing Bat 14 Jul 2006 12:03

One has to wonder how the chap who came up with the recipe thought of it in the first place?!

Hypnobabe 14 Jul 2006 12:07

I didn't even consider that..... It has to be the result of a night of drunken debauchery, resulting in the munchies tho', surely?

AndyK 14 Jul 2006 12:11

It tastes fantastic ... had it years ago courtesy of an American Colleague at a 4th July BBQ ... strangely enough the same night we invented Marmite slammers ...

Rockette 14 Jul 2006 12:17

Today is one day... Are they alcoholic?

Ageing Bat 14 Jul 2006 12:26

I'd have the marmite without the alcohol

Hypnobabe 14 Jul 2006 12:31

That's good, 'cos I'd have the alcohol without the marmite!

Of course they are ...

you need
  • one decent shot of vodka
  • one half teaspoon marmite
  • shot glass
Add marmite to glass, and pour in the vodka.

Heat in microwave on medium power for 15 seconds.

Swirl liquid around, mising in marmite,

Slam glass onto table top and drain glass quickly.

Repeat until you fall over ...

Hypnobabe 14 Jul 2006 12:39

How on earth did you come up with that?

AndyK 14 Jul 2006 12:40

It was a long night! made worse by a suggestion from someone ( ) that Lemonade Hooch would make a really good shandy when mixed with Stella

Ageing Bat 14 Jul 2006 12:44

This is probably a really daft question, and I blame my lack of knowledge entirely on my blonde highlights, but why do you need to slam the glass on the worktop before drinking? I've often wondered.

Edit: Just noticed that's my 700th post..... surely I qualify for a special name now??? Please nice, kind, lovely mods ...... especially as my blog entries & comments never add to my post count (why is that?).

AndyK 14 Jul 2006 13:15

It adds to the mixing process ... and particularly with Tequila slammers, it makes it more fizzy ...

So, what would you like? Pick it and change it yourself before we come up with something derogatory :))

Debbi V 14 Jul 2006 13:43

Believe it or not, I'm making this chicken recipe on Sunday!! They even make a special rack now so the chicken stands up even better!!

hayley 14 Jul 2006 13:46
