For each decade from the fifties onwards pick ONE artist that you feel sums up that particular era. You don't neccesarily have to like them - just as long as you feel they epitomize that decade. My picks:

80's - U2
90's - Madonna

Not going to pick for the 00's, because I think it's too early to say, but feel free to say if you want!
